Air cadets prepare for a busy month

It is a busy time of year for 315 Newcastle Air Cadets. We are busy preparing for our upcoming 65th Annual Ceremonial Review, which is a formal parade where we show off our skills in drill, music and various other parts of the cadet program. This year's Annual Ceremonial Review will be held on Sunday, May 25, at the Miramichi Civic Center. We are very fortunate this year to have our Member of Parliament, Mr. Charles Hubbard, as our Reviewing Officer for the day's events.
The 315 glock and drum band also participated in two parades this past weekend. One parade was from the Miramichi Mall to the Knights of Columbus for the "Walk of Hope" that supports the Schizophrenia Society. After the parade we were invited to go inside the hall for food and refreshments, while listening to Terry Whalen and his band perform. Then we left for another parade. We played in support of the MS Society at the Kinsmen centre in downtown Newcastle, while the runners were coming to the end of the course.
Along with all the preparations for the end of May, 315 is also preparing to go on a camping trip. This will be a fun activity for the whole squadron to finish the year. We plan on having a great time, and cannot wait until that weekend comes. All in all there will never be a dull moment in either May or June for 315.
Watch for our ads in the local newspaper and on our local radio station for information regarding our 65th Annual Ceremonial Review on May 25. All are welcome. If anyone has any questions regarding the Royal Canadian Air Cadet movement, don't hesitate to call us on Wednesday evenings at 622-2099, or drop in between 6 and 9 p.m. at the George St. armories.
