War Amps labels commemorate anniversary of armistice
Published Friday October 10th, 2008

As New Brunswick residents begin to receive their 2008 War Amps address labels this week, they will find enclosed a letter from the Association's CEO, Cliff Chadderton, noting the anniversary of what was called "the war to end all wars."
"Nov. 11, 2008 is the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War, a war which, sadly and proudly, my family recalls due to service in Flanders of young men from both sides of my family," Chadderton writes.
"But there is another significant reason to mark the occasion," he says. "I refer to the thousands of youngsters in our Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program who have joined Operation Legacy, which was started by The War Amps to ensure that future generations will understand the importance of Remembrance."
Mr. Chadderton adds, "It has been a wonderful privilege to see the manner in which youth have adopted our military heritage message, based on The War Amps seminars and internationally award-winning documentaries. Supporters of The War Amps share in our legacy of commemoration."
He includes some significant dates and facts about the First World War in the letter, and also tells some of the lesser-known stories of war on his new Blog at www.cliffchadderton.ca.
Sent as a thank you to supporters of The War Amps Key Tag Service, address labels are not just for envelopes. They can be used to identify personal items like books, golf clubs, cellphones, organizers and cameras, as well as for filling out name and address information on forms.
The War Amps receives no government grants and is funded solely by public support of The Key Tag and Address Label Service. For more information, or to order address labels, use E-ZEE ACCESS: call toll-free 1 800 250-3030, fax toll-free 1 800 219-8988 or visit www.waramps.ca.
