The St. John Ambulance celebrated their 50th anniversary with the annual Burton Colter Field Day on Saturday, May 3.

The event was held at the Miramichi Kin Centre. St. John Ambulance first aiders competed in junior, senior, and open categories for a chance to take home the bronze, silver or gold medal.

Units from throughout the province participated in the competition showing judges their first aid skills.

The 2008 Burton Colter Field Day competitions was held for the first time in Miramichi. Please see an upcoming for coverage of the awards banquet.

The opening statement should read "Miramichi St. John Ambulance...". I state this because St. John Ambulance is celebrating its' 125 years of Volunteer Service in Canada this year.
