God does not give up on us, so we should not give up on ourselves

We often get discouraged with ourselves in our walk with the Lord. We slip and fall or wander from the path He has given us, but we must never give up, for He does not give up on us! As parents we never give up on our children when they stumble and fall as they learn to walk. The Scriptures tell us that He will complete the work He has begun. I'm so thankful for that encouraging word.

Another passage is one of many that encourage us. Just as the Israelites were protected that first Passover, by the blood on the doorposts, we also can be secure, knowing we are covered also by the blood of the Lamb. (Ref. below)

Justified!

Don't look at me and hope to find,

One perfect, without sin;

But look to Jesus Christ my Lord;

The "One" who dwells within.

‘Tis He and He alone can claim

A nature that is pure

And yet this "Sinless One" has died,

My freedom to secure.

Forgive me if you cannot see

A spark of Christ in me,

But He is surely changing me,

So please wait patiently!

The day will come, (I have His Word), (Phil. 1:6)

That I'll be just like him;

Though Satan tries to make me think

My chances are quite slim.

To think that I'll be like my Lord

Is hard to comprehend,

But nothing is impossible,

If on Him I depend.

Ah, yes, my friend, I know I'm far

From what I ought to be,

But Jesus more than compensates

For all the lack in me!

For God sees us through His dear Son

And we are justified,

When to the doorposts of our hearts, (Ex. 12:7)

His precious blood's applied!

‘Tis not of "works," lest man should boast,

But Christ, who works within

And I am trusting in His blood,

To cleanse my heart from sin.

So don't give up on me, my friend,

For Christ is working still

And daily as I yield to Him

I learn to do His will!
