On the Oct. 2, the Anglican Parish of Derby and Blackville Holy Trinity Church celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Michael and all Angels, honouring the local police, firefighting and paramedical services. Also in attendance were MLA Rick Brewer and Minister of Public Safety John Foran. At the end of the service, Father Barrett presented certificates of appreciation to the District 6 RCMP (accepted by Cpl. Mark McKinnon), Paramedic Services (accepted by Darlene Gillespie), Renous Fire Department (accepted by Dwayne Hallihan) and Blackville Fire Department (accepted by Fred Kennedy). After Blue Mass, everyone retired to the basement for tea, coffee and sweets.
