Gas falls 3.2¢
Published Friday November 21st, 2008

It's more good news for drivers today as pump prices around the province dropped once again at midnight.
Gas prices fell by just over three cents per litre, while diesel prices dropped almost four cents when the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board made its weekly adjustment.
The maximum price for regular self-serve gasoline dipped 3.22 cents per litre to 81.79 cents per litre.
Those at the Miramichi pumps this morning were glad to see the decrease and were optimistic the price drops would continue.
Peter Dixon, who was filling up his truck at PetroCanada, said he heard the price would be going down again and waited until Thursday morning to fill up.
"It's feeling pretty good," said Dixon. "At this rate it may come down to 50 or 60 cents where it should be — like it was years ago."
For the last several weeks Dixon has been waiting until Thursday to get his gas, and it has been paying off.
Michel LeBlanc was also filling up his car Thursday and said he's been watching the price of a barrel of oil closely.
"You can't complain when you see the price go down. I feel confident the decreases will continue for the next few months," said LeBlanc. He, like Dixon, said he waited until Thursday morning to fill the tank.
Mid-grade self-serve dropped to 85.18 cents per litre down from 88.40, while premium self-serve dropped to 88.57, down from 91.79 cents per litre.
The price of diesel dropped by 3.73 cents per litre to sit at 107.96 cents per litre.
Furnace oil dropped 3.58 cents per litre to 89.33 cents. Propane showed the biggest drop of the night, dipping 4.84 cents per litre to a new maximum of 85.73.
Yesterday, the price of a barrel of oil for December delivery fell 77 cents to settle at $53.62 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, which is about where the prices stood in January 2007.
On Jan. 23, 2007, the price of a barrel of oil hit US$53.73. On that day, the maximum retail price of regular unleaded self-service gasoline in New Brunswick was $90.16.
