Hi! We are some of the recent kittens that have arrived at the shelter. There were at least five of us and our mom. We are grey and brown tabbies and most of us have little beige or white markings around our eyes to make them stand out even more. We are tiny and very cute and — yes, we'll say it — irresistible. Right now we are about nine weeks of age and we love to run around and climb things, and then when we have run until we can't run any more we find a comfy spot and drop off to sleep to recharge out batteries for the next flurry of activity.

We are very cute right now, as we have said before, but please remember that in a very short time we will grow into cats who will be with you for a very long time if we are well cared for. If you take us home we need to know that you won't tire of us and stop caring for us. The shelter is filled with many cats who have been abandoned by their owners. They were left unspayed or unneutered and were put outside to fend for themselves. This is not the life that we dream of during our many cat naps. We have heard that there are lucky cats out there who are adopted to loving homes where they are well cared for and live to be as old as 17 or 18 or older. That is a big commitment.

We have all been dewormed and will be given our first needles before we leave here. We hope that you will come in soon to get us so that we can start our lifetime together.

Pledge sheets are now available for the SPCA's Annual Dog Jog. They can be picked up at the Miramichi SPCA in the Industrial Park in Chatham. The Dog Jog will take place on Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at French Fort Cove.

For more information about adopting us, please call the SPCA at 622-0645 or come visit us at the shelter, located in the Chatham Industrial Park on 128 Dan Cripps St. Due to a lack of funding the shelter is closed Monday-Wednesday until further notice, but will be open Thursday-Sunday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Don't forget to check out the web site at www.geocities.com/miramichi_spca to see the many other cats, kittens and dogs here at the shelter. You can also find many pictures on Facebook under the Save the Miramichi SPCA group.
