Chloe, siblings want a good person this time
Published Friday September 5th, 2008

Hi! My name is Chloe! I am just one of the irresistible puppies from a litter of four that are available for adoption at the shelter. We are roughly seven weeks old and look to be shepherd mixes. There are two males and two females from my litter and all of us are just as cute! We want nothing more than your love and affection.
My story of how I came to the shelter is not a happy one. I miss my mother every day — her smell, her heartbeat drifting me to sleep, the licks and kisses she gave. Well, she belonged to a bad person who chose to not have her spayed and she ended up giving birth to me and my siblings. Her person not having her spayed, though it was irresponsible on their part, was not the terrible thing I speak of. When my siblings and I were old enough to be taken away from my mom, the person didn't try to find homes for us — instead I found myself in a ditch alongside my brothers and sister, away from everyone else. I am not going to act brave — I was really scared and frightened. I didn't know what was going to happen to us and it was unknown if someone would come to our rescue. Thankfully, a guardian angel was sent our way and brought us to the SPCA last Friday to receive the care we need.
I never want to look back and think of what could have happened if those nice people did not come. Since arriving here we have all been dewormed and bathed and will receive our vaccines before leaving. Before you come meet me, please remember I will not stay this small forever and if I am so lucky to be adopted right away, perhaps you will love one one of brothers or sister just the same. If my mother's owner is reading this I truly hope you are ashamed of what you have done.
For more information about adopting, please call the SPCA at 622-0645 or come visit the shelter, located in the Chatham Industrial Park on 128 Dan Cripps St. The shelter is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. The shelter is closed on Mondays.
