Local boy on supply staff helps keep cadets going

Staff cadet Kyle Roy of 3037 Miramichi Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps hands out water bottles and other equipment to the cadets who just arrived in Argonaut, the Atlantic region army cadet summer training centre in CFB Gagetown. Sergeant Roy has a summer job as part of the supply team at Argonaut, where he usually works in the General Stores department, but as new cadets arrive he will help pass out the equipment that they need. Roy, who lives in Newcastle, is 16 years old and will be going to Grade 12 in the fall. This is his fifth summer in Argonaut, and he says he is happy to help out cadets who come his way. The Cadet Program is available across Canada to young people ages 12-18. It is one of the largest youth programs in the country, with over 55,000 cadets nationally, and is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment where young people can develop as strong leaders and active citizens.
