This 2007 International is the newest addition to the fleet of the Sunny Corner Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire Chief Murray Sherrard accepted the keys to the 2007 International four door club cab truck on March 19.

Raymond Allain of Allain Equipment Manufacturing Ltd. delivered the truck to the department. Allain Equipment outfitted the truck to the volunteer firemen’s specifications.

The fire truck, the first for the 22-member volunteer fire department in four years, has a modern compressed air foam system and a hydraulic ladder lift that can be raised or lowered with the touch of a button. The truck is also equipped with four quick-exit “911 seats” and has a front bumper hoselay for quick response.

The vehicle is valued at over $200,000.

Volunteer fireman Bobby Hare said the department was happy to have the truck.

“It will make our work a lot easier.”

Sunny Corner Local Service District chair Thelma Astle says she and other LSD members are pleased with the addition of the truck to the department’s fleet.

“This upgrades our fire response equipment and replaces an older truck in our fleet.”
