Birthday Parties
Mrs. W.C. Picketts entertained on Tuesday afternoon for her younger son Darrell,theoccasionbeinghisfifth birthday. Balloons and favours, games and singing were enjoyed by the children. Mrs. Picketts was assisted in serving refreshments and the traditional birthday cake by her elder daughter, Elaine.The little guests were Jane Crocker, Anne Picketts, Gary Green, David Crocker and Billy Anderson.

Mrs. R.H. Morrissy entertained a number of friends and classmates of her son, Paul, at a party Tuesday afternoon, the day being Paul’s 12th birthday.
The boys went fishing at Brown’s Brook at 1:30 o’clock, the day being a half holiday for the May teachers’ meeting.
Several of the boys brought back small trout after an afternoon of fishing. About five o’clock the guests had supper at Paul’s home, the table with its appointments and favours being in regular birthday style. After supper, baseball was enjoyed in the yard until dark, when the boys left for their homes after an enjoyable day. The guests were Ronnie Dolan, Clarence Edgar, Paul Walker, Donald Harriman, Donald Crocker, Bobby Taylor, Karl Bruun, Rollie Taylor, Allan Russell, Bobby Tozer, Ronnie Hansen, Bobby Geikie, Paul, Jane, Dick and Kathleen Morrissy.

Little Jean Kelly entertained Saturday afternoon at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Wallace, Douglastown, the occasion being her seventh birthday. The children played games and admired gifts received by the young hostess,for which she had expressed her appreciation.
The little girls wearing gay crepe paper hats were served a dainty luncheon from a prettily decorated dining-table centered with an appropriate birthday cake and place markers of plastic baskets filled with pastel colored candies. The invited guests were the hostess Jean Kelly, Sharon Whitney, Sheila Allison, Lucy Carroll, Joyce Carroll, Shirley Williston,Hazel Matchett,Theresa Carroll, Alice Kay, Hannah Mary Hutchison, Barbara Lobban.
