In response to encouraging feedback received regarding our coverage of the run-up to the upcoming municipal election, set for Monday, May 12, we are printing again the profiles of all the candidates (this time without their photos so that we can get them all in one paper).

Skate park opening May 15, thanks to efforts of our local youth
Again this year, the youth who attend the Miramichi Skate Park are helping out. Before the skate park can open its gates, it needs to be swept of dirt, rocks and debris from a long, hard winter. The youth showed up Thursday night to do just this.
Letter to the editor | Get out and vote
This my first and probably my last letter to the editor. I wish to express my opinion on the importance of the upcoming municipal election on May 12. I urge the citizens of Miramichi to research the candidates running for mayor and council and to vote for the person you feel would do the best job for the betterment of the Miramichi.
