Leadership issues never far from surface in Liberal Party

It seems leadership issues are never far from the surface in the Liberal Party these days. How does Stephane Dion feel when his deputy leader's Harvard college mate is musing about what a wonderful leader Ignatieff would be?
Mr. Ignatieff and Samantha Power worked closely together at Harvard on human rights issues and have been labelled by some American political analysts as soulmates.
Ms. Power recently mused about the day when North America is ruled by Barack Obama in the U.S. and Michael Ignatieff in Canada, expressing the hope that Mr. Ignatieff becomes Liberal leader some day.
"I think you have not heard the last of Ignatieff," Ms. Power was reported as saying in the Ottawa Citizen. "He's just getting, from my talks with him, more and more sophisticated."
But Ms. Power then telephoned the Citizen in a panic, trying to retract her comments.
"To say we haven't heard the last of Ignatieff, I think, is perfectly fine," Ms. Power said. "To say ‘An Ignatieff-Barack continent' is probably pretty stupid and not all that helpful on my part."
The Liberal Party has no leadership, no policy, no plan for the country and nothing but imaginary scandals with which to smear the government. Perhaps it's not surprising the deputy leader's friend is musing openly about Ignatieff's leadership ambitions.
Ignatieff and Obama ... now wouldn't that be a disastrous team? Join them up with Mexico and, like the old song says, "There goes my everything."
That's the way I see it.
Sincerely,
Ted Ross
PS: Did you hear Venezuela took the Simpsons off daytime TV. They said the dysfunctional family is a bad image for children. Not hard to agree with that.

give it a rest
Ted, you're about twenty years too late for that party. Besides, anyone who calls the Simpsons dysfunctional clearly misses the point of the entire show.
