Right to life most basic

I would like to voice my objection to Dr. Henry Morgantaler receiving the Order of Canada.

This award is supposed to be our country's highest honour. It is awarded to citizens who have given significant lifetime service to the nation, enriched the lives of others and made a difference to this country.

I recognize Dr. Morgantaler has made a great difference in our country. However, this "difference" has contributed to robbing us of a third of a generation. In the name of "choice" our most vulnerable Canadians are being denied the right to their own life.

There have been over 2,000,000 Canadians silenced in this way since 1988 (StatsCan, 2005). Abortion is not just a "procedure," it ends the life of a human being. The right to life is the first basic human right and I do not feel Dr. Morgantaler deserves to be rewarded for denying this right. Speaking for the over 2,000,000 who cannot,

G. Michael Hall
