Love bug Gracie has lots of devotion for a new owner
Published Monday January 5th, 2009

Hi! My name is Gracie! I am a beautiful white female with a few black markings on my head, tail. I also have the cutest little speck of black on my nose which almost looks like the shape of a heart. I was extremely dehydrated and underweight upon arrival because my harsh life as a stray only lead me to skin and bones. I was not only near starvation before being found and brought to the shelter but among other things I was badly covered in fleas with a huge abscess on my side.
I was immediately put into foster care where I stayed for a few weeks with a great family who took special care of me. I am pleased to say I have since recovered and have put on weight. I thank my foster family for everything they did to make me as good as new again.
One thing about me that my foster family noticed along with the staff when I came back is despite the neglect I suffered in my young life, I am quite amazingly a major love bug. I still adore people and crave the affection they provide. I have lots of love and devotion and I want to give it to whoever adopts me. I am just looking forward to having a nice forever home with a kind person who can make me forget that I was ever once homeless and unwanted. Please, will you be the lucky one to adopt me and make me feel like I've been with you all along?
For more information about adopting, please call the SPCA at 622-0645 or come visit the shelter, located in the Chatham Industrial Park on 128 Dan Cripps Street. The shelter is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. The shelter is closed on Mondays.
