To hear God's voice we must stop talking long enough to listen

Just a Little Light

D3

Hi, folks! I hope you've had a good week. Do you ever have a problem hearing God's voice? Probably most of us have at one time or another, and more than likely we think He is hiding from us. But how can that be? We are created in His image, are we not? Can any created thing or being "know" its creator? Not possible — unless... Unless the Creator made Himself known to the created. That's precisely what our Heavenly Father did … because He first loved us!

How wonderful is that? He wants to communicate with us, His children, but sometimes we have a problem connecting. Or is it hearing? Can you identify with this "conversation?"

"Lord, some tell me that You have spoken with them, not in an audible voice but in their spirit. I do believe You exist but why is it that I can't hear Your voice?"

"Little One, you bring many requests to Me and that is wonderful; but the problem is, you do all the talking and then you leave! You don't really expect to hear from Me, so off you go, never waiting for a reply. When you speak to others you expect a reply, don't you?"

"But Lord, there are so many voices! How do I distinguish Yours from all the rest?"

"Listen, My Child! 'My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me.' (Jn. 10:27) If you will spend more time with Me and in My Word, you will get to know My voice and My heart."

I believe that most of us can identify with this "conversation." Our Heavenly Father longs to draw His children close. He does not hold Himself aloof from us, but neither will He force Himself on us. Over and over again He has promised never to leave us or forsake us, and He is only a prayer away. God bless you!
