The Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation is organizing the 11th Annual Miramichi Cares Charity Golf Classic with corporate sponsor Molson, to support their "For Every Person. For Every Reason." capital campaign to purchase a local digital mammogram service.

The Miramichi Cares Charity Golf Classic committee has recently sent out letters to local businesses asking them to support the golf classic and participate in the event. In return for their contribution to the campaign, the local businesses will be provided with acknowledgment at the golf course, table programs, and media news releases. Last year, the local business community was generous in contributing to the Miramichi Cares Charity Golf Classic, and it is hoped that this year will be an even greater success.

The Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation's campaign has a three-year goal to raise $600,000 to purchase a local digital mammogram service. Digital Mammography is the most technologically advanced means of early detection of breast abnormalities. The more quickly the abnormality is detected, the better it is to treat breast cancer successfully.

The Miramichi Cares Charity Golf Classic Committee is anxious to start this project and look forward to the community's generous support. With their aid, the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation will be able to give the women of Miramichi, and their families, the peace of mind they deserve.

The Miramichi Cares Charity Golf Classic will take place on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Miramichi Golf and Country Club which includes a full day of golf, fun, prizes and dinner.
