Let commission do job

In your paper of August 22, you write, "If there is private enterprise willing and able to talk care of a physical recycling facility then we should encourage that".
I am not so sure about that. Recycling is very costly, and unless you recycle only the metal and the paper and cardboard you are not going to make any money out of the rest like glass, some plastic, etc.
Any company, I don't care who, that wants to build a solid waste facility, don't want to do that for the good of your health or mine, its to make money.
So on top of the taxpayers paying for a $4 million facility we will also have to pay for a fat profit.
The Solid Waste Commission don't have to make a profit and if by chance they would, it goes back to the taxpayers.
No company in the world will invest $4 or $5 million in a facility of any kind and not expecting their money back.
Let the Solid Waste Commission do their job. The disposal and recycling of our garbage should not turned into an industry.
