It has recently come to my attention that Elizabeth Watling of Black River Bridge has taken on the huge task of organizing a Food Bank Drive on Saturday, November 22, 2008. I would like to thank Elizabeth for all she is doing. It certainly speaks volumes of her character and commitment to those less fortunate to attempt such an endeavour.

It is my understanding that volunteers will be canvassing door to door throughout the Greater Miramichi area and all items gathered will be taken to the local food bank for distribution.

I am confident that all Miramichiers who are approached will open up their doors and make generous contributions to the cause. Although Elizabeth has decided to organize the actual collection, it is upon all of us to help those in need. With the "Christmas" season arriving

soon, it is important that we count our blessings, but, more important, that we share our blessings.
