LBA hosts spring league action

MINOR HOCKEY — The East Coast Ice spring hockey league continued on the weekend with a full slate of games throughout the province and on Prince Edward Island.

MOOSE ON THE LOOSE — The Northeast Moose PeeWee Minor team took to the ice at the Lord Beaverbrook Arena Sunday for spring league action. The PeeWee team dropped both games on the day, losing to the Eastern Attack and PEI Young Islanders.

The Lord Beaverbrook Arena hosted Atom Minor play Saturday, while Sunday saw PeeWee Minor teams in action.

The Miramichi region is represented by the Northeast Moose, who played two games Saturday in Atom Minor action. In their first game of the day the Moose lost 2-0 to the Eastern Attack. They would rally, however, and come back to tie the Southern Crunch 2-2 and then demolish the Western Big Red 10- 1.

On Sunday the PeeWee Minor teams took the ice and it was a rough day all around. The Moose dropped their first game 2-1 to the Attack in an intense, fast paced match-up. In their second game of the day the Moose would fall 6-3 to P.E.I.

In other action elsewhere in the province, the PeeWee Major Moose downed the Northern Magic 7-4 and the the Crunch 4-3. In Atom Major action the Moose defeated 3- 0 by the Crunch before beating the Attack 8-5.
