"We organized activities such as selling tickets on various items, and we held our second annual cake auction with funds matched by the Community Matching Program. Our staff baked delicious varieties of cakes and donated them to the auction. We had auctioneer, John McKay, adding in his style, talent and humor to our invited guests, which made the event a huge success with over 45 cakes sold," said branch manager Shelly Hare. "We are pleased to support the Hospital Foundation in their efforts. We must work together as a community to provide the best possible medical services to patients. At one time or another, we all benefit from enhanced local health care services."

"We are extremely grateful to the Scotia Bank Chatham staff for their efforts and generosity," said Steve Myles, Foundation Chairperson. "Their contribution is another indication of community support that has been demonstrated continually throughout our campaign. It is inspiring to have so many recognize the worthiness of our cause and provide such strong support to assist us in reaching our goal."

The Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation's "For Every Person. For Every Reason." campaign is raising funds to purchase a $600,000 local digital mammogram service. Digital mammography is the most technologically advanced equipment available for early detection of breast abnormalities. Early detection, followed by prompt treatment, offers the best chance to treat breast cancer successfully.
