The James M. Hill Tommies varsity girls basketball team rebounded from a tough loss in their first game of the season last week to play strong in two Saturday exhibition games.
In Game 1 of the day the Tommies hosted the Dalhousie Regional High School Condors in a tough, closely played contest. The Condors led 34-21 at the half and would hold on to take a 55-50 lead.
Brittany O'Toole was the star of the show for the host Tommies. She drained four three-pointers in the game including two in dying seconds.
O'Toole was the leading scorer in the game putting up 26 for the Tommies. She was helped out by Andrea Napke with eight points and Brianna MacDonald with five.
For the Condors Meg Lawlor lead the way with 14 points, Samantha Levesque had 10 points and Madyson Williams had nine.
In the second game the Tommies played a hard fought game and picked up a 48-46 win over the Southern Victoria Vikings. The evenly matched teams were tied 26-26 going into half-time.
The best player on the court was once again O'Toole who scored 28 points. Napke, Allison MacDonald and Hannah Williston each had six points.
The Vikings Kelsey Nissen played very well with 20 points while Pam Stone had eight. Megan Sullivan and Jennifer Swazey also contributed six points each.
