The Dalhousie Regional High School Condors had little trouble with the Miramichi Valley High School Pulamoo Wednesday night beating the host Pulamoo 124-49 in New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association basketball.

The Condors put on an impressive display in the game using their speed and strength to dominate the game. DRHS forced numerous turnovers and were effective from three-point range.

The Pulamoo could not match the skill level of the condors but did show some positive signs during the game, particularly in the first half. Jay Kirkpatrick stood out from the Pulamoo scoring 17 points in a losing effort.

Ryan Arsenau picked up eight points for the Pulamoo while Luke Savard provided four.

On the DRHS side of the Ryan Smith lead the way with 20 points followed by Mike Glencross with 24 points and Rob Daley with 18 points.

Three other basketball games scheduled for Wednesday night were cancelled. The Bathurst High School Phantoms called off their trip to Miramichi to face the Pulamoo girls, while on the other side of the river a double header between the James M. Hill Tommies and Mathieu-Martin boys and girls teams was also cancelled.

All four local teams are taking part this weekend in the Miramichi Hoops Classic which continues today. Games begin at both schools today at noon and continue until this evening.

The girls championship game goes Saturday at 2 p.m. and the boys game follows at 4 p.m. Both games will be played at MVHS.
